Prairie Engineering, P.C. is a Mechanical and Electrical Engineering Consulting Firm with offices in Bismarck and Minot, ND.

The Firm was incorporated in 1979, with Mechanical Design in Minot and Electrical Design in Bismarck.  In 1996, a Mechanical Department was added to the Bismarck office and an Electrical Department was added to the Minot office.  In the 25 years since it was founded, Prairie Engineering, P.C. has grown to include 22 employees.

Prairie Engineering, P.C. has designed projects throughout North Dakota, as well as in Minnesota, Montana, South Dakota, and Iowa.  Design includes heating and air conditioning system conversions, coal fired and conventional heating plants, and fire alarm and security systems.

Prairie Engineering, P.C. has experience in a wide variety of projects, including primary and secondary education facilities, higher education facilities, hospitals, clinics, law enforcement centers and jails, museums, offices, and churches.  These experiences include design for both new and remodel projects.

Over the past 25 years, Prairie Engineering, P.C. personnel have accumulated a vast amount of expertise related to mechanical and electrical design to meet the demands of all Clients.

Energy conservation has been our primary objective in all designs since 1979.  Many of Prairie Engineering, P.C.’s past projects have incorporated energy-efficient lighting systems, heat recovery ventilation systems, conventional heat pump systems, geothermal heat pump systems, and high-efficiency mechanical equipment.  Prairie Engineering, P.C. is a member of the US Green Building Council, and recognizes the importance of energy conservation and environmental friendly construction practices.
