Responsibilities and Duties

  • Ability to initiate, develop and maintain mutually beneficial client relationships.
  • Apply electrical engineering, code and standards knowledge to solve complex construction problems.
  • Attend kick-off, coordination, and progress meetings.
  • Coordinate project ideas, design, conflicts, etc. with all engineering disciplines, contractors, project managers, and clients.
  • Develop and utilize drafting/CADD and Revit skills to produce electrical design drawings and details to portray needed design features for a variety of projects.
  • Manage multiple projects. Work in conjunction with other team members to produce client reports in timely manner.
  • Perform field visits/inspections during design and construction phases.
  • Perform quality control quality assurance techniques to ensure design meets current codes and standards.
  • Prepare electrical construction drawings, technical reports, and specifications.
  • Provide cost estimates for proposed design.
  • Review shop drawing documentation for compliance with project specifications.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Bachelor’s degree in Electrical Engineering or equivalent experience.
  • Knowledgeable in the National Electric Code.
  • Strong verbal and communication skills.

Prairie Engineering provides opportunities for college students to gain real-world experience during the summer months.  The number of opportunities available depends on the anticipated work load.

Responsibilities and Duties

  • Work on projects that track directly to the needs of the business and allow you to have a hand in key company initiatives.
  • Collaborate on cross functional teams in order to design, develop and implement various engineering projects.
  • Aid in design, plan preparation
  • Develop and utilize drafting/CADD and Revit skills to produce design drawings .
  • Perform field visits/inspections during construction phases.

Qualifications and Skills

  • Completed sophomore year in Engineering program.
  • Willing to learn.
  • Flexible and enthusiastic approach to work.
  • Good communicator in English, both verbally and in writing.
  • Able to work in an office environment.
