Prairie Engineering, P.C. was founded in 1979 as a Professional Corporation that provided Mechanical and Electrical
Engineering services on a consultant basis to Architectural Firms, Owners and other Engineering Firms. Prairie Engineering,
P.C. has been serving Western North Dakota for over 30 years. In that time the company has grown to 27 employees, which
includes seven Mechanical Engineers, six Electrical Engineers, five senior Mechanical Designers and four Senior Electrical

Our willingness to work together with the Owner, Architect and Contractor to design systems that meet the needs of our clients
Our assistance after project completion
Mr. Drevecky has been Chief Mechanical Engineer at Prairie Engineering, P.C. since 1979. He has
extensive experience in the design, installation and operation of mechanical (HVAC) systems. Specific
areas of expertise include building energy audits, mechanical systems evaluation, medical, educational
and detention facilities, heat recovery/energy conservation systems, and central heating plants.
Mr. Hunze has gained hands-on experience as an electrician's apprentice, construction estimator and
construction manager working for an Electrical Construction Company. This background provides
valuable understanding of operations within the electrical industry, which include standard business
methods, avenues of material supply and the relations between owners, contractors and the design
team. Practical experience coupled with education give Mr. Hunze a unique perspective which is
incorporated into every aspect of his designs. Individual projects reflect ease of installation and
maintenance and consideration for future modification/expansion. An enthusiastic pursuit of solutions
for all problems encountered during every stage of design and construction is conveyed to those
involved.
Mr. Axvig's experience includes designing various mechanical systems for residential, commercial,
industrial, and manufacturing facilities. In addition to designing, he has performed numerous building
assessments and building computer-modeling analysis to determine payback of building materials and
systems. Mr. Axvig has participated in the US Green Building Council workshops and is an LEED
Accredited Professional.
Mr. Butman has worked in the field as a telecommunications technician and telecommunications
engineer. This has provided him with background knowledge of design, and installation of different
building systems. While at Prairie Engineering, Mr. Butman has had design experience ranging from
schools and churches, to street lighting and lift stations. This has given him a diverse perspective when
designing projects, incorporating ease of use and maintenance, making considerations for future
expansions, and appealing to the aesthetic aspects of a project. Finding solutions to unique
circumstances and working with all parties during every stage of a project are items Mr. Butman feels
are necessary to provide a successful final product.
